Performer, author, and speaker, Parker Ramsay began studying the harp with his mother, Carol McClure, in Tennessee, and continued at Cambridge, Oberlin, and Juilliard. Equally at home on both modern and early harps, he tackles new and/or under-performed works and brings his instrument to new audiences.
He has worked with composers such as Marcos Balter, Nico Muhly and Josh Levine, Sarah Kirkland Snider, Jared Miller, and Aida Shirazi.
Along with gambist Arnie Tanimoto, Parker is co-director of "A Golden Wire," a period instrument ensemble based in New York City. In 2020, his Bach Goldberg Variations received critical acclaim. His latest album, features The Street for solo harp and text by Nico Muhly and Alice Goodman.
