This evening will focus on Italian writing from three generations of artists, from Luciano Berio, who died twenty years ago, to Matteo Gualandi, born in 1995. Intertwining instrumental and electronic worlds, Lara Morciano's "embedded braids" have become a piece of the mixed music repertoire for flute. In his creation, the Chilean composer José Miguel Fernández creates a delicate interaction among the conductor's gestures, the programming language, and synchronization strategies offered by gesture recognition. Matteo Gualandi concentrates sonic aesthetics in a series of chamber miniatures, Fleurs du sang et de la rosée, without electronics. Finally, Berio and his Thema, based on the chapter of the Sirens of Ulysses by Joyce, achieves a masterly synthesis between the word, the voice of Cathy Berberian and electroacoustics. The onomatopoeias and sounds of the text abound: "Imperthnthn thnthnthn" related to trills, "Chips piching Chips" to staccato. Musical and textual meanings merge and respond to each other, in a rare and exciting economy of material.
